2009 Season Creeps Up!

The kids have been running all summer and the season is now right around the corner. To kick things off, the coaches want to meet with the parents this Thursday, August 13th at 6:30 pm in the SIS Commons. Tentative agenda:
Parent meeting agenda:
1. Introduction of the Coaches: Sarah Kopplin and Dominic Newman
2. Mission of the Program.
3. Rules of Participation.
4. Parent Support.
5. Dealing with the Athlete.
6. The Team Web Site.
7. Awards Night: SIS Cafeteria. Date
8. Items from the Floor.

The CC Season is as much fun for the parents as it is for the kids. Hope to see you there!

Are you running yet?

Okay, I'm going to get some grief for this post but the article is too good to ignore.

Runner's world is out with a lengthy interview of Sarah Palin that focuses on her 35 years as a runner. In particular she talks about running in -30 degree weather and running at night and early in the morning in order to stay on track for her goals. It kind of puts our weather into perspective.

Even if you don't like her politics, you should still read the article. If for no other eason than to remember that running transcends politics.
